I was thinking yesterday about the saying "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise". I was up earlier than usual to prepare for what I knew was going to be an early day for my two girls. I love to have a routine and I pride myself in adhering to a schedule each day. I've found that consistency in our schedule ensures my family is happy and healthy! I'm certainly not a morning person and getting up before 7:00 am is a real struggle. At any rate, I was prepared and it made all the difference. There have been times in my past when I woke up well after my alarm and rushed to arrive to work on time. I felt inadequately prepared for the day ahead, felt short on patience, and I could never get caught up as the day raced onward. I do not like feeling that way and I make every effort possible to avoid those situations. I like to be at least 15 minutes early for everything, especially if I'm leading or teaching. In those cases, I would prefer to be 30 minutes early. Life doesn't always allow for me to be that early but, when it does, I have a more successful day!
When we are early, we are more prepared for what situations we face throughout the day.
Were you prepared for your day today? If you weren't on the early side this morning, were you able to catch up?
